Poros Town is not only the capital but also the main harbour of the island. It is located in the southern part of the island extending along the coastline for almost 2km. The church of Agios Georgios is home to the superb frescos painted by the famous Greek painter Constantine Parthenis. An imposing neoclassical, light blue painted clock tower built in 1927 stands on the highest point of the town.
