Magic in Malta

Although a small island, Malta has a big character that’s only enhanced by its azure waters, stunning landscapes and rich culture to rival any ancient land.

Malta holidays offer all a luxurious and delightful encounter with that irresistible Mediterranean charm. Experience Europe at its best and enjoy an unforgettable holiday in this country which is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches – not to mention a staggering nine UNESCO World Heritage sites. Discover them all, plus plenty more on a holiday to Malta that’s doused in sunshine, intrigue and irreplaceable charm.

Leisure and Luxury

Malta is the international buffet of holiday destinations, although it exudes plenty more style and sophistication. From the party town of St. Julian’s to the sleepy, serene Mellieha Bay that boasts staggering views, Malta has certainly got the resort for you.

For a romantic break in a location that’s doused in culture, look no further than the island’s very own capital, Valletta. Offering street theatre, quirky markets and an old town which boasts one of those sought-after UNESCO World Heritage statuses, it provides a great base to experience the very best of what Malta has to offer. Combine this with a short trip to the coast and you’ve got yourself the ideal recipe for a romantic break to remember.

If, however, a beach break is what you had in mind, Sliema should be your first port of call. With beautiful, charismatic shorelines that are dotted with picturesque, rocky coves you’ll have a great beach on your doorstep, as well as a line-up of fancy boutiques and charming restaurants.

Solace in Splendor

A holiday in Malta will provide you with a luxurious experience in one of the Mediterranean’s crown jewels. For those looking for tranquility, consider visiting in early autumn where the temperature sits at a delightful 25C but the summer throng has died down. That being said, if hustle and bustle is your thing, the summer will provide you with the brightest rays of sunshine and plenty of infectious atmosphere. The Maltese islands offer a host of activities for the whole family, with a thriving waterpark being a great day out with the kids. Just like the sun, the nightlife in Malta is never dull. Always buzzing, the club scene has hosted some incredible names including LMFAO. For a holiday with a group of friends, look no further than St. Julian’s. Classical music and orchestras are very popular among the Maltese and theatre has a home in the stunning 18th century Manoel Theatre. The Hypogeum in Paola is a great day out if you are looking for a little extra culture on your Malta holiday. Boasting a series of underground chambers dating back to prehistoric times, culture vultures and history buffs alike will adore a day out here.

Things to do

For such a small country there is a multitude of exciting things to sink your teeth into. St John's Co-Cathedral, arguably Malta's most impressive church, was designed by the architect Gerolamo Cassar and is a perfect example of the island’s intricate architecture. To combine a day of eating al fresco in delightful cafes with exploring some of Malta’s history, look no further than the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta. Set in an area that’s flanked by wine bars and local restaurants, it will really provide a day out to cherish.

If you’d like to witness a sight that you only thought existed on postcards, enjoy a family or a romantic trip to the island of Comino, found just off Malta’s north coast. With the bluest of blue waters and beaches made famous by the Brooke Shields film, Blue Lagoon, you’ll fall in love from the moment you arrive.
