The variety of Vienna Christmas markets will make it easy for you to find a thoughtful gift for every one of your loved ones, while also enjoying a traditional Christmas market experience.

And with Christmas markets happening here for over 7 centuries you can't help but get swept up in the history of beautiful Vienna.

The most popular of Vienna Christmas markets has been happening in Vienna's Rathausplatz since 1975 and is open from the 15th November to 24th December. Here you can soak up the traditional Christmas market atmosphere with the Vienna's city hall in the background.

At Schonbrunn Palace Christmas market, open from 24th November to 1st January - once the summer abode of the Austrian Emperors - you can stock up on mulled wine and ginger bread while listening to some festive concerts.

The Spittelberg is a highly authentic Christmas market where you can browse an impressive range of both traditional and original handicrafts. And, while you're there, make sure you take time to admire the scenery of the surrounding alleyways and courtyards. They make Spittelberg one of the prettiest Christmas markets in Europe.

Lesser known Viennese Christmas markets include Belvedere Palace and Freyung, in the First District. These are great for cakes, biscuits, hot punch and Glühwein.

More Than Just Christmas Markets

While you are in Vienna take time away from the Christmas markets and check out what else the city has to offer. It is packed with fascinating historical buildings, including Hofburg Palace - the President's residence and former seat of the monarchy - and St. Stephen's Cathedral, which was built in the 1200s.

As well as Vienna, there are some other fantastic Christmas markets in Europe, and we have deals to all of them!
